Apple's iPad Accounted for Nearly 2 in Every 5 Tablets Shipped Globally in 2023

Apple’s Dominance in the Shrinking Market
In 2023, the top five vendors collectively shipped 128.5 million tablets, with iPads accounting for 48.5 million units. This accounted for 37.7% of the total distribution in the period, marking a drop of nearly 12 million units from the previous year.
Samsung was the second most supplied tablet, accounting for 20.4% of the market share, with 26.2 million units of Samsung tablets distributed in 2023. Like iPads, Samsung’s distribution also dropped by 4.2 million units compared to the other year. Lenovo, Huawei, and Amazon completed the top 5 distributors of tablets in 2023.
Generally, the shipment of tablets decreased immensely in the year 2023 compared to 2022. In Q4 2023, the global tablet shipment dropped by 17.4% YoY to reach 36.8 million units. The figures represent the most significant drop in the fourth quarter since 2016.
