Crypto Adoption Rates in US
Cryptocurrency adoption in the United States has surged to unprecedented levels, with 40% of American adults actively participating in digital finance. This translates to approximately 93 million individuals.
With the recent Bitcoin ETF approval, another 29 million people are expected to add to the count of crypto owners in the United States. Undoubtedly, the giveaway salute to the operations of ETFs is fueling mass crypto adoption and awareness, even as 46% of crypto owners remain optimistic about its settling aftermath.
In 2021, analysts were looking at a 15% acceptance rate in the US before doubling in 2022, raising the adoption rate to 33%. Then again, 2023 saw a marginal slump, with the crypto community looking at a 30% adoption rate.
Only a few months into 2024, this figure has soared significantly by 10%, and Bitcoin alone is looking at over 46 million Americans in ownership.
Globally, the males hold the upper hand in crypto domination compared to the females. However, women are showing considerable interest in crypto even as their adoption rate spikes outshadowing men’s. In 2023, 43% of men in the US had crypto, while only 18% of women held the asset. Today, we’re looking at a 48% male adoption and a 29% female adoption in the US. This represents a remarkable 61% surge in female adoption in just a few weeks into 2024.
Why are Females Increasingly Taking up Crypto Assets?
Globally, 63% are looking to add their crypto assets in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, and dogecoin over the next year, with females contributing significantly to the count. Most women are re-envisioning crypto as a potential long-term investment, especially with the prices expected to soar. About 56% of crypto owners have a positive outlook on the prices and expect them to augment.
The surge in female representation is a positive outlook for the entire crypto domain. As women envision financial independence in crypto, it’s more likely we’ll see more women incorporate crypto into their asset portfolio.
